Labor Day weekend is upon us! I don’t know about you, but I am excited to spend the weekend outside and hanging by a pool with a cocktail in hand! My drink of choice this weekend is definitely going to be a grapefruit chilton. SOO refreshing and light!
With this being Labor Day weekend and it being a weekend of parties and camping…I wanted to share some tips about how to handle going to a Labor Day party and staying on track!
Tip #1
Load your plate with protein! Protein will get you through this. Typically, at a cookout there is never a shortage of grilled meats. Choose some of your favorite meats and load up! Also, remember to choose whole foods!
Tip #2
If your party isn’t until 2pm…. plan on eating light leading up to the party. It’s hard to accurately track at a get together or even track at all. Give yourself some wiggle room so that you can fully enjoy your party so that you can eat and drink with all of your friends!
Tip #3
Workout the day of your party. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy. Simply going for a 20-30 min run through the neighborhood, doing a body weight workout at home, or go to your gym if they are having a class that morning. This will get you in the right mindset and like always…it just makes you feel good! If your party is on Monday it will also keep you on your normal routine!
Tip #4
Avoid the sugary drinks! If you choose to drink…drink what you like just be mindful of what you mix with it. Coke, juice, and all of the other sugary mixers are just not worth it and will leave you feeling worse the next day due to the high sugar content.
Tip #5
Have fun! Enjoy time with your friends and family!
